Documenting the rehearsal dinner for my clients gives me a chance to get to know them better before the big day and see what excites them most about the upcoming celebration. For some people, like the lovely Jessica, it is clearly a time to reflect on and deeply appreciate the bonds of family and friends. When her brother gave a touching speech that drew her tears, I completely identified- I went to my brother’s wedding ten years ago unaware of just how much it would touch me. I wept, overcome by the sight of his confidence and absolute surety in his place in the world that day. Jessica’s brother demonstrated so clearly how proud he was of her and how happy he was for her marriage to Ross, how could that not bring tears to a sister’s eyes?
